We love Incense! Incense in so many cultures is a sign of sanctuary. It has a purifying nature that adds a feeling of peace to the room. Incense is used to freshen up the scent of indoor areas, for spiritual purposes and more. While incense has been used for millennia, it does come with some important health concerns. We suggest to follow these safety tips:
- Ideally burn the incense sticks before your yoga and meditation, so you cleanse the room and are breathing in just the scent mixed with air and it will also not get overpowering for sensitive people.
- Burn incense in a ventilated area.
- Keep both lit and unlit incense out of the reach of small children and pets.
- If you’re asthmatic or have other respiratory issues then you should avoid burning incense. But if you love the feeling that incense gives you, but you’re afraid of the smoke, consider purifying the air with a Himalayan sea salt lamp or an air purifier or crack the window.
